Refunds & Cancellation

The current authored website does not intentionally provide first-party checkout or payment processing. It introduces the LLP’s work and links to external research, publishing, technical and marketplace services.

Where an engagement, licence, order or transaction is agreed separately, its governing written terms apply in addition to this policy.

Cancellation or termination of a bespoke research, institutional, AI-system or build engagement is governed by the applicable signed proposal, statement of work or agreement.

Any financial reconciliation may take account of completed work, work in progress, reserved capacity, materials prepared, commitments already made to third parties, non-recoverable costs and agreed handover obligations. Nothing in this policy overrides a more favourable mandatory right or signed engagement term.

Cancellation, suspension, deactivation and refund treatment for software, evaluation tools, reference implementations, APIs or other technical assets is governed by the relevant order, licence, subscription terms or engagement agreement.

A material failure to supply an agreed asset or a material failure to conform to its governing description will be addressed through the remedies available under the applicable agreement and law.

Change-of-mind refunds are generally not offered after digital delivery or access where permitted by applicable law and the governing transaction terms.

This position does not remove mandatory rights or available remedies for material defect, material misdescription, duplicate payment or failure to supply. A marketplace, order, licence or engagement term that gives the purchaser a more favourable remedy will continue to apply.

The current website does not directly sell or ship physical products. A purchase made through a publisher, distributor or marketplace is subject to the return, replacement and refund process identified for that transaction.

This policy must be reviewed before any direct physical-product checkout is introduced on the website.

The relevant listing and transaction record identify the seller or merchant of record. Where an external marketplace controls payment, cancellation, return or refund processing, the request must follow that marketplace’s process and governing terms.

Little Black Journal LLP cannot guarantee an outcome or processing period controlled by an external platform, but will provide reasonably available transaction information where it is responsible for the relevant listing.

Requests concerning a direct engagement, order or licence may be sent to contact@littleblackjournal.in. Include the purchaser or client name, relevant reference, purchase channel and date, the reason for the request and supporting information.

For marketplace purchases, use the marketplace process first where it controls the transaction. Do not send full payment-card details or account passwords by email.

Where a refund is approved, it will be returned through the original payment route where practicable, unless the governing transaction terms or applicable law require another method. Completion may depend on a bank, payment provider or marketplace outside the LLP’s direct control.

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or replaces a refund, cancellation, replacement, repair or other remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded. If a governing agreement, order, listing or applicable law provides a more favourable right, that right will prevail.
